New England athletes should feel proud of their accomplishments of getting to the Olympics this year and inspiring a new generation of US athletes as well.
Jack Hughes, Hero of the US, Clinches Gold over Canada in Men’s Hockey
It is the last day of the Winter Olympics. The grand finale is the gold medal game in men’s hockey as the United States takes on Canada for their first gold medal since the 1980 Miracle on Ice. The atmosphere is tense within the stadium as the fans can be clearly heard. It feels like Olympic hockey!
U.S. Men’s Hockey, Eichel, Hughes, Dominates Slovakia in Semifinals
We move on to the United States taking on Slovakia in the semifinals of men’s Hockey.
With just 4 minutes into the game, the United States scores to make 1-0 thanks to Dylan Larkin!
With 40.5 seconds left in the 1st period, Tage Thompson of the US scores on a power play goal to make it 2-0 United States!
Jack Hughes of the United States scores to make 3-0 in the 2nd period. Just 19 seconds later, Jack Eichel of North Chelmsford, MA scores to make it 4-0! Slovakia is forced to switch goalies much to the frustration of the goalie being switch. It made no difference as Jack Hughes would score his second goal of the night to make it 5-0 US!
U.S. Women’s Hockey: Knight, Keller, and Frankel Win Gold Medal
We move on to the Gold Medal match in Women’s Hockey as the United States takes on Canada for a second time in this tournament. Despite it being a blowout victory for the United States last time, this match figures to be different this time. This is because Marie-Philip Poulin of Canada who is widely considered to be the best female hockey player in the world, is playing today. She did not play against the United States last time due to injury.
Shiffrin Gold, Schumacher and Ogden Silver
Mikaela Shiffrin exorcises her Olympic demons and wins the gold medal in the Women’s Slalom for her first medal since 2018 and had the widest margin of victory in any Olympic Alpine Skiing Event since 1998.
Gus Schumacher and Ben Odgen of Landgrove, Vermont won the United States’s first ever silver medal in the Men’s Team Sprint Free Final for Cross-Country Skiing.
U.S. Women’s Hockey Continues Shutout Streak
The United States Women’s Hockey team is taking on Sweden in the semifinals of the hockey tournament.
U.S. Women’s Hockey Quarterfinals, Bilka
We turn to the Men’s Snowboard Halfpipe as Jake Pates, Chase Josey, and Alessandro Barbieri are competing for the United States. We also move on to Women’s Hockey as the United States takes on Italy in the quarterfinals. Italy has the home crowd on their side, so the atmosphere is more tense compared to previous games.

We start off today with a bronze medal acquire by Jessie Diggins in the Women’s 10km Interval Start Free despite her ribs being bruised.

US Women’s Hockey, Gives Canada First Ever Shutout
The United States looks to acquire more medals today after winning the women’s downhill in alpine skiing and the team event in figure skating.
United States, Carpenter Continues to Cruise in Women’s Hockey, Beat Swiss 5-0
The United States Women’s Hockey team took on Switzerland in pursuit of a 3-0 start in Group play. The United States scored with just 13:57 into the game as the Boston Fleets of the PWHL Haley Winn score to make it 1-0. United States continued to outshoot their opponents by a wide margin in this Women’s Hockey tournament.
Offense Woes Finally Catch Up to Maye, Vrabel as Patriots Lose Super Bowl
The Patriots season ended today by unexpectedly ending up in the Super Bowl. Thanks to second year quarterback Drake Maye and first year head coach and coach of the year Mike Vrabel, the Patriots are in the Super Bowl. This is the first Super Bowl since the Tom Brady era. However, the offense woes that plagued them during the postseason finally caught up to them. The much-maligned offensive line once again struggled to protect Drake Maye. The defense kept the Patriots in the game, but it was all for naught. The only good thing for New England was Ben Affleck’s new Dunkin ad.

For the first time, in a long time, the world will feel like is truly Winter Olympics is back. The last Winter Olympics in 2022 in Beijing, China was a disaster thanks to COVID-19 ravaging the planet and as a result, fans were banned from attending the games. Taking place in northern Italy, (the official name is “Milan-Cortina 2026” - however, other towns in Italy are hosting events in these Olympics) this is the first Winter Olympics since 2018 that fans will be able to attend the games and the first Winter Olympics hosted in Italy since the Torino 2006 games.

Patriots, Mike Vrabel, and Drake Maye Survive Unexpected “Leaf Blower” Game Against Broncos
The Patriots and Broncos were battling it out on Sunday. Both teams’ defenses were dominating the game. The Broncos struck first thanks to the belief the team had in Jarrett Stidham but Stidham did a crucial mistake by fumbling in their own red zone. The Patriots took advantage of this and scored a touchdown to tie the game.

Mike Vrabel and Patriots Defense Win “War of Attrition” Against Texans
It was a snowy and miserable day in Foxborough, Massachusetts and the Patriots and Texans were locked in a defensive struggle. The fans had to brave the elements to witness this slugfest. Both teams’ offenses struggled, making it a “war of attrition”.
Drake Maye of the Patriots had 4 fumbles in the games and CJ Stroud of the Texans had 4 interceptions. As a result, in the snow, both teams had to rely on their defenses to make the critical plays.
