Patriots vs Colts First Drives-Preseason Blitz Thoughts

  • Tommy DeVito gets the start over Drake Maye. Some say that it is because of the turf situation at Gillette Stadium. First drive was somewhat of a success as DeVito got the team into field goal range and gain 44 yards.

  • Bigger deal tonight was the Colts as their quarterback situation made headlines last season. Linebackers are lacking for the Patriots this year. Patriots defense intercepted the Colts on their first drive thanks to Kindle Vildor.

  • On the second Colts drive, the Patriots defense forced a 3 and out and stopped the run which they did not do on the first defensive effort.

  • Patriots offense converted on a 2nd and 25 on their third drive thanks to DeVito throwing it to Mack Hollins. Converted a 4th and 1. Tried a field goal but missed.

  • Productive first drives for the Patriots  will be mulled over as training camp goes on.
