Mbappé and France Dominate Morocco

France and Morocco rivalry was on full display in the Quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup. This was the last match in Boston for this World Cup. This was also a rematch of the 2022 World Cup Semifinals which France won.

France vs Morocco was a stalemate for the first 15 minutes. However, France began to control the game by controlling possession after that first 15 minutes. The match changed after France stole the ball from Morocco and Kylan Mbappé was fouled in the penalty box. However, Mbappé was denied by the goalkeeper. France was fuming over the lengthy VAR review of it and claimed that it caused Mbappé to be denied by the goalkeeper. More criticism of the integrity the tournament.

Despite France controlling the first half, the match would remain scoreless at halftime. In the second half, off a Morocco turnover, Mbappé would score an absolute beauty to make 1-0 France in the 60th minute. France would score again thanks to a Ousmane Dembélé goal in the 66th minute to make it 2-0. France would go on to win the match 2-0 over Morocco and move on to the semifinals.
