Jessie Diggins Bronze Medal

We start off today with a bronze medal acquire by Jessie Diggins in the Women’s 10km Interval Start Free despite her ribs being bruised.

We move on to Women’s Snowboard Halfpipe as Chloe Kim, Maddie Mastro, and Bea Kim are competing in the final. A snowstorm has hit the competition making the conditions adverse for the boarders.

Chloe Kim on run 1 scores an 88.00! She is setting the pace for the field!

Next is the U.S Men’s Hockey team taking on Latvia as NHL players are playing for the first time in the Olympics since 2014.

Connor Hellebuyck, an alumnus of UMass-Lowell, is the starting goalie for the United States.

Brady Tkachuk scores to make it 1-0 United States over Latvia in the 1st period!

United States scores, but it is deemed offside. Still 1-0.

Latvia ties it to make it 1-1.

United States scores in the 2nd period to retake the lead 2-1 on a one-on-one goal by Brock Nelson!

Tage Thompson scores for the United States to add to their lead! It is now 3-1!

Brock Nelson scores again! 4-1 United States!

In the 3rd period, Austin Matthews, the captain of the United States, scores to make it 5-1 and seals the game for the US.

After a slow start, the United States defeat Latvia 5-1. Hopefully, these slow starts don’t carry over to the next 2 round robin games.
