Celtics 3 Pointers Notes
How They Need to Improve Against the 76ers
Stop letting Sixers players have the spotlight during games. The Celtics’ losses in Game 2 and Game 5 have been because of individual efforts such as Maxey and Edgecombe in Game 2 and Embiid in Game 4. This struggle to defend the 76ers when their individual players go on a run has been costing the Celtics games.
The Celtics being one dimensional is hurting them. By constantly relying on the “three ball”, the Celtics have a glaring weakness that can be exploited and could cause the team to implode during a game. The 4th quarter of Game 5 was nothing short of a disaster as the team was 3-for-22 shooting. Teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder will take advantage of this and it will be a very short hypothetical NBA Finals for the Celtics. The Celtics needs to be more dimensional before it’s too late.
Their cold defense needs to be addressed. The Celtics was so cold defensively in Game 5 that the TD Garden turned into a freezer. Giving up 35 points in the 3rd quarter while offensively struggling is a recipe for disaster during the Playoffs. The defense needs to be the one that Celtics fans have been seeing all season. Otherwise, it will lead to a quick exit in the Playoffs.
