U.S. Women’s Hockey Continues Shutout Streak

The United States Women’s Hockey team is taking on Sweden in the semifinals of the hockey tournament.

The United States scores 5 minutes into the game to make it 1-0 thanks to Cayla Barnes.

Taylor Heise for the United States scores to make it 2-0 in the 2nd quarter thanks to some beautiful passing by Hannah Bilka.

Abbey Murphy scores to make it 3-0! Laila Edwards and Kendall Coyne Schofield combine to make it 4-0! Sweden pulls the goalie, but it makes no difference as Hayley Scamurra scores to make it 5-0!  The United States scores 3 goals in 2 minutes and 46 seconds.

After dominating the second period, the United States defeats Sweden 5-0 and moves on to the gold medal match.

At the age of 41, Elana Meyers Taylor becomes the oldest US women athlete to win a gold medal in the Winter Olympics as she wins gold in the Women’s Monobob for Bobsleigh. Kaillie Armbruster Humphries wins the bronze in the same event for the US.

At the end of Day 10, the United States has 19 medals (6 gold, 8 silver, and 5 bronze). They are on track to surpass their medal total in the 2022 Winter Olympics.
