Patriots, Mike Vrabel, and Drake Maye Survive Unexpected “Leaf Blower” Game Against Broncos

The Patriots and Broncos were battling it out on Sunday. Both teams’ defenses were dominating the game. The Broncos struck first thanks to the belief the team had in Jarrett Stidham but Stidham did a crucial mistake by fumbling in their own red zone. The Patriots took advantage of this and scored a touchdown to tie the game.

It stayed tied after halftime, but during the second half, the game took a turn. The Patriots got the ball first and managed to sustain a drive for a field goal to make it a 10-7 game. After that, God said let there be snow and an unexpected snowstorm hit Denver, creating whiteout conditions for the rest of the game. It was impossible for both teams to create a sustaining drive in the second half and the Patriots defense had to come up big in order to win the AFC Championship and go to the Super Bowl. Conditions were so bad that leaf blowers were used to identify the lines on the field.

Drake Maye, the Patriots quarterback, used the one thing that has been hurting the Broncos during the playoffs: quarterback runs. Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills was successful last round vs the Broncos using the quarterback run despite the loss to them. Maye used this to his advantage as the Patriots quarterback was the 2nd leading rusher for the team and did the game sealing run to send the team to the Super Bowl.

Vrabel’s brilliant play calling continued as it was clearly reflected on all facets of the team. It was reflected on the offense, defense (which produced a critical interception late in the game), and special teams (which produced a key block field goal to keep the Patriots lead at 10-7).

Thankfully, the Patriots now have two weeks to get ready for the Super Bowl and clean up nagging mistakes such as the offensive line not protecting Maye effectively.

Thankfully, the hearty Patriots fans that are now stranded in Denver due to the snowstorm that is gripping the country can, for once, go home happy on the long plane ride home as the Pats have won for the first time in the playoffs in Denver.

Thankfully, I can relax for two weeks until the Super Bowl as this game was so intense that my dog, Duke, had to check if I was having medical problems.
