Party Crashers: Morocco, Saibari Haunt Scotland, McGinn

Scotland returned to the pitch at Boston Stadium today against arguably their toughest opponent in their World Cup campaign yet. Morocco are no pushovers as they were in the semifinals of the last World Cup. Morocco so far looks like the semifinalist team from the last cup as they drew Brazil on matchday 1 of the group stage.

Unfortunately for Scotland, almost immediately into the match, their supporters felt the pain of past Scotland World Cup teams. Ismael Saibari of Morocco was left all alone in the Scottish box and scored point blank to make it 1-0 Morocco just 2 minutes into the match. This was the fastest goal in the World Cup so far. Morocco would dominate the match throughout the first half as they had much of the possession of the ball.

Scotland would have chances in the second half, but they were unable to connect for goal. The match would end in 1-0 victory for Morocco as they will surely move on to the knockout stage. Meanwhile, Scotland is in a pickle going into their match against Brazil in Miami.

Here at the Unnamed Sports Blog, we would like to do a short tribute to Scotland as they leave Boston to fly south to Miami for their next match. We hope you remain in the tournament as long as possible.

You ran our beer dry, no one can deny.

You mingle with our cops, which makes you the tops.

You are so clean, it is serene.

You are prone to cones

Our statues are now your virtues.

So, Bagpipe Boston!

As you would say

No Scotland, No Party.

Duke’s Moment of the Match

Saibari’s goal for Morocco set the tone for the match, much to the disappointment of the hearty Tartan Army.
