Ghana Dampens Kane, English Spirits with 0-0 Draw

England and Ghana both headed into matchday 2 of the Group Stage in the World Cup on a momentum swing. On matchday 1, England had a convincing victory over Croatia thanks to New England Patriots superfan Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham. Ghana had a thrilling last-minute victory over Panama.

The crowd was majority of English fans that belted out “God Save the King” with a group of Ghana fans mixed in. It was perfect English weather as rain was persistent throughout the match.

Despite England dominating possession in the first half, they were unable to create chances and were constantly frustrated by the Ghana defense. The match would remain scoreless at halftime. More of the same happened in the second half as England had the better chances to score a goal, but they were unable to connect.

England almost had costly giveaways and had great chances to score a goal late, but were left frustrated by the time the end of the match. It would end 0-0. England needs to go back to the drawing board before their game against Panama on matchday 3.
